Breathwork can be an incredible powerful and transformative practice, offering benefits ranging from stress relief and emotional relief to physical healing and spiritual awakening. Breathwork is a powerful way to reconnect with your body, your emotions, and your inner wisdom.
The breathwork I offer is not about intensity, force, or pushing through.
It is about listening, regulation, and creating safety so the body can soften and respond in its own time.
This work invites you to meet yourself beneath the surface, with care.
My approach to breathwork is grounded in respect for your nervous system, your lived experience, and your inner wisdom. This work is not about forcing release or pushing the body beyond its limits. It is about creating safety, choice, and responsiveness so healing can unfold in its own time.
I am trained in Double Helix Integrative Breathwork, a trauma aware method developed by my teacher that weaves together elements of Rebirthing Breathwork and Somatic Breathwork. This approach allows the breathwork to remain flexible and responsive rather than rigid or overwhelming.
Music plays an important role in this work.
Carefully curated sound and music help guide the experience, offering structure, emotional resonance, and a sense of safety.
Together, breath and sound create a container that supports release, integration, and reconnection.
This is not cathartic breathwork.
It is not about pushing past limits or seeking intense emotional release.
It is about creating the conditions for the body to feel safe enough to let go
Many breathwork styles are powerful, but not always gentle. Some rely on sustained intensity that can feel overwhelming, especially for people with trauma histories or sensitive nervous systems.
Double Helix Integrative Breathwork emphasizes choice and regulation. Intensity is not imposed. It is adjusted moment by moment based on what your body is communicating.
You are never pushed into an experience.
You are invited into one.
This allows the body to feel safe enough to soften, release, and integrate without being reactivated or flooded.
Breathwork naturally brings you into a deeper state of awareness, similar to meditation, hypnosis, or deep somatic presence. In this state, the body’s innate intelligence and subconscious awareness guide the experience.
My role is not to direct what should happen, but to hold a safe, ethical, and attuned container so your system can process what it is ready to meet.
For some people this brings emotional release.
For others, clarity, insight, or a sense of calm and connection.
There is no right experience. Only your experience.
People are often drawn to breathwork when they feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in their head.
This work may support you in:
-reconnecting with your body in a gentle way
-noticing emotions that feel distant or difficult to access
-softening chronic tension or long held holding patterns
-allowing the nervous system to release what it has been carrying over time
-increasing nervous system regulation and resilience
-feeling more present and grounded
-deepening self awareness and emotional clarity
-supporting integration alongside psychotherapy
Every experience is different.
Some sessions feel subtle and grounding.
Others offer emotional insight or quiet release.
All experiences are welcome.
Breathwork may be supportive for you if you feel drawn to healing that includes the body, not just the mind.
This work is especially well suited for people who:
-feel disconnected from their body, emotions, or inner world
-have spent years being strong for others and are ready to soften
-notice stress, tension, or overwhelm living in their body
-feel emotionally numb or stuck and want gentle access to feeling again
-are curious about embodied or somatic approaches to healing
-want a trauma aware practice that honors choice and pacing
-are already in psychotherapy and want deeper integration
-feel called to slow down and listen inward rather than push forward
Many people who come to this work are thoughtful, sensitive, and self aware, yet feel tired of living mostly in their head. Breathwork offers a way to reconnect without forcing, fixing, or performing.
You do not need prior experience with breathwork, meditation, or somatic practices. Curiosity and openness are enough.
A gentle note
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from breathwork.
You also do not need to know exactly why you feel drawn to it.
If something in you is curious, even quietly, that is often enough to begin.
Breathwork is a powerful and meaningful practice, but it is not appropriate for everyone or for every moment in a person’s healing journey. Part of ethical, trauma aware care is knowing when to slow down, adapt, or choose a different form of support.
Breathwork may not be the right fit at this time if you:
-are experiencing severe or unstable medical conditions affecting the heart, lungs, or nervous system
-have a history of seizures, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or significant cardiovascular concerns
-are in acute psychiatric distress, including active psychosis or severe dissociation
-are very early in trauma recovery and do not yet have enough internal or external support
-are pregnant and seeking anything beyond very gentle, medically approved breathing practices
-feel pressure to release, break through, or have a specific experience rather than listening to your body
-are looking for breathwork as a replacement for medical or psychiatric care
This does not mean breathwork will never be an option for you.
In many cases, it simply means that a different pace, approach, or form of support may be more appropriate right now.
Before any breathwork session, we review health history, emotional readiness, and current supports through informed consent and open conversation. If breathwork is not the right fit, your safety is always the priority, and I will support you in exploring other options when possible.
Healing is not about doing more.
It is about doing what your system can safely receive.
There is no failure in choosing what feels supportive.
There is wisdom in listening to your body.
Breathwork sessions are designed to feel safe, spacious, and responsive to you. There is no performance, no pressure, and no expectation to reach a certain state.
Each session unfolds at the pace your nervous system allows.
Before the session
We begin with a brief check in and conversation. This is a time to slow down, arrive, and orient to how you are feeling both physically and emotionally.
Together, we may:
-review informed consent and health considerations
-clarify intentions or themes if you wish
-discuss comfort, boundaries, and choice
-settle the body with gentle grounding
You do not need to come with a goal.
Not knowing is welcome.
During the session
Most breathwork sessions take place lying down in a comfortable, supported position, though adjustments are always possible. You are gently guided into breathing patterns that may shift over time depending on what feels supportive for you.
During the session, you may notice:
-changes in sensation or temperature
-emotional waves or subtle release
-moments of calm, insight, or stillness
-imagery, memories, or increased body awareness
-periods where very little seems to happen
All of this is normal.
You remain in control of your breath at all times. You can slow down, pause, or return to gentler breathing whenever needed. My role is to support and attune, not to push or direct your experience.
Some sessions feel active.
Others feel quiet and deeply restful.
Both are meaningful.
After the session
We move slowly into integration. This includes time to rest, reorient, and allow your system to settle.
You may notice:
-a sense of calm or openness
-emotional tenderness or clarity
-fatigue or deep relaxation
-subtle shifts that continue over the following days
You are welcome to reflect or share if you wish, though sharing is always optional.
When possible, you will be encouraged to keep the rest of your day gentle. Integration often continues beyond the session itself.
A gentle reminder
Breathwork is not about achieving a breakthrough or forcing release. It is about listening, allowing, and trusting the intelligence of your body.
Some sessions feel subtle.
Some feel emotional.
Some simply help you breathe a little easier.
All experiences are valid.
You are supported throughout the process.
Breathwork can be experienced in different settings, depending on the level of support, depth, and connection you are seeking. Each format offers something unique, while remaining rooted in the same trauma aware, client centered approach.
Private Breathwork Intake Session
A required first step**
Before booking an individual breathwork session, we begin with a brief intake conversation.
This 30 minute session is a supportive and structured space to explore what is bringing you to breathwork and to assess whether individual breathwork is an appropriate fit for you at this time.
During this intake, we will:
-explore your intentions and what you are hoping to receive from breathwork
-review relevant health, nervous system, and safety considerations
-talk through what breathwork looks like in practice, including pacing and integration
-create space for your questions and concerns
This session is not psychotherapy and does not replace a therapy intake. No therapeutic treatment or mental health assessment takes place during this conversation.
At the end of the intake, we will decide together whether to move forward with individual breathwork, explore a modified approach, or pause if breathwork is not the right option right now.
This step ensures breathwork is offered with care, clarity, and respect for your system.
To begin, please book a Private Breathwork Intake Session through my booking page.
Individual breathwork sessions
**Available after completion of the intake session.
Individual breathwork sessions offer the most personalized and responsive experience. These sessions are longer and more spacious, allowing the body to move at its own pace with full support.
Session length: approximately 2-2.5 hours
Fee: 360 CAD
This option may be supportive if you:
-want one to one guidance and attunement
a-re working with trauma, anxiety, or nervous system sensitivity
-prefer privacy and individualized pacing
-want space for deeper inner exploration
In individual sessions, breathwork is fully tailored to you. The pace, techniques, and intensity are adjusted in real time based on what your body communicates. There is room to slow down, pause, or integrate as needed.
You do not need to be an ongoing psychotherapy client to book an individual breathwork session. Some people choose breathwork as a one time experience, while others feel supported by follow up integration sessions through psychotherapy.
Please note that individual breathwork sessions are done virtually and are typically not covered by insurance, as they are offered as breathwork rather than psychotherapy. Integration sessions booked afterward under psychotherapy may be eligible for coverage if your insurance plan includes Registered Psychotherapists. I recommend confirming coverage directly with your provider.
Facilitated group breathwork
Group breathwork offers the support of shared presence while still honoring individual choice and boundaries. These sessions are offered periodically and announced as dates become available.
Session length: approximately 2- 2.5 hours
Fee: dependent on rental venue
Group size: small groups of up to six participants
Keeping groups small allows for a slower pace, more individualized attention, and a safer, more contained experience for everyone involved.
This option may be supportive if you:
-value community and shared experience
-feel resourced enough to participate in a group setting
-want breathwork held in a carefully guided container
-are looking for a shared experience without pressure to speak or perform
In group sessions, you are guided within a collective container while remaining fully responsible for your own breath and experience. You are never required to share or participate beyond your comfort level.
Breathwork within retreats and workshops
Breathwork is also woven into retreats and workshops as part of a larger healing experience.
This option may be supportive if you:
-want to step away from daily routines and responsibilities
-feel called to deeper self exploration
-value nature, ritual, and extended integration time
-are seeking both individual and group experiences
Retreats and workshops combine guided breathwork with grounding practices, rest, reflection, community connection and joyful experiences. The slower rhythm allows insights and nervous system shifts to settle more fully.
All retreat and workshop experiences are held with clear structure, informed consent, and ample integration support.
Retreat and workshop details are shared as they become available. You can explore current offerings on the Retreats page or join my mailing list to stay informed.
Choosing what feels right
There is no better or more advanced way to experience breathwork.
Some people begin with individual sessions.
Others start in groups.
Some feel drawn to retreats when they are ready for deeper immersion.
What matters most is choosing the setting that feels supportive, safe, and aligned for you right now. If you are unsure, we can explore together what option may best support where you are in your journey.
Your safety and wellbeing are always the priority. Breathwork is offered with care, clear boundaries, and respect for your nervous system and lived experience.
Because breathwork works directly with the body and nervous system, it is important that this practice is approached thoughtfully and with informed consent.
Before participating in breathwork, we take time to review your health history, emotional readiness, and current supports. This helps ensure the experience feels safe, appropriate, and supportive for you.
Breathwork may not be suitable if you are experiencing certain medical or mental health conditions, including but not limited to severe cardiovascular concerns, a history of seizures, unmanaged high blood pressure, or acute psychiatric distress. Pregnancy and other health considerations may require modifications or postponement of breathwork.
This does not mean breathwork will never be an option. Often, it simply means that a different pace, approach, or form of support may be more appropriate at this time.
Informed consent is an ongoing process. You are always encouraged to ask questions, share concerns, and communicate what you are noticing in your body. You remain in control of your breath, your pace, and your participation throughout the session. You may pause, adjust, or stop at any time.
Breathwork is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care. It is offered as a complementary practice that supports awareness, regulation, and integration.
If breathwork is not the right fit for you, I will always prioritize your safety and, when possible, help you explore other supportive options.
Healing happens when safety comes first.
Listening to your body is not a setback. It is wisdom.
