Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy

A bridge between psychotherapy and psycho-spiritual healing

Hypnotherapy, as I practice it, is not simply a technique. It is a way of listening beneath the surface. A bridge between evidence-based psychotherapy and ancient psycho-spiritual healing traditions that recognize the intelligence of the unconscious.

This work invites the busy, analytical mind to soften so that deeper clarity can emerge. It offers space for healing by consulting what many describe as their natural inner brilliance. The part of you that carries wisdom, coherence, and an innate capacity for transformation.

Hypnotherapy is offered as part of integrative psychotherapy and is always grounded in relational safety, clinical ethics, and consent.

How I understand and practice hypnotherapy

My understanding of hypnotherapy has been shaped by clinical training that integrates psychotherapy, mindfulness, and integrity-based hypnotherapy, as taught by Kaia Day.

In this orientation, hypnotherapy is viewed as both a clinical discipline and a healing art. It is not about imposing change, overriding defenses, or performing suggestion. It is about creating the conditions where healing can unfold from within.

Rather than directing the unconscious, we listen to it.

This work honors the intelligence of the nervous system, the body, and the psyche, and recognizes that meaningful change happens when safety, respect, and inner readiness are present.

Your healing signature

At the heart of this work is the belief that every person carries a unique healing signature. An inner blueprint for growth and transformation that has not been erased by trauma, pain, or self-doubt.

Hypnotherapy offers a way to gently access this inner design and allow it to guide the healing process. Instead of asking what is wrong with you, this work asks what within you is seeking expression, resolution, or integration.

Healing becomes less about fixing and more about remembering.

Accessing clarity consciousness

Hypnotherapy supports access to what can be described as clarity consciousness. The deeper, wise core of you that exists beneath self-criticism, fear, or protective patterns.

In this state of awareness, long-held beliefs and automatic responses can begin to reorganize naturally. Insight becomes embodied. Change becomes integrated rather than forced.

This is often where shifts occur that conversation alone has not been able to reach.

Trauma-aware and spiritually grounded

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful support in trauma work when practiced with care, pacing, and somatic awareness.

In this approach, trauma is not something to be pushed through or relived. It is something that requires safety, containment, and choice. By working with slower brainwave states and grounded presence, the nervous system is supported in reorganizing without overwhelm.

This work is both clinically informed and spiritually grounded. A space where healing can occur without bypassing the body, emotions, or lived experience.

Quieting the busy mind

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused awareness. A slowing of mental activity that allows the constant chatter of the busy mind to settle.

In this quieter state, the mind becomes more receptive and reflective. Automatic thoughts, emotional reactions, and ingrained patterns can be met with curiosity and compassion rather than effort or control.

Some people experience this as calm, spacious, or gently illuminating. Others simply notice a sense of clarity or internal quiet.

All experiences are welcome.

Reclaiming hypnotherapy as a healing art

Clinical hypnotherapy has often been misunderstood due to its association with stage performance or spectacle. In this work, hypnotherapy is reclaimed as a healing art that is both science-based and deeply human.

It uses trance-based mindfulness to bridge the gap between insight and integration. Between intention and lived change.

This is not about control.
It is about collaboration with the deepest parts of yourself.

Session structure and pacing

Hypnotherapy is integrated into extended or deepened psychotherapy sessions, where there is enough time for grounding, depth, and integration.

It is not offered in standard 50-minute psychotherapy sessions and is not provided as a standalone service.

Before hypnotherapy is introduced, we take time to assess readiness and ensure this approach feels supportive, appropriate, and aligned with your needs.

Who hypnotherapy is for

Hypnotherapy may be supportive if you feel drawn to working with deeper layers of awareness in a way that honors both psychology and spirituality.

This work often resonates with people who:

-feel stuck in patterns that insight alone has not shifted

-sense that healing requires more than talking

-want to work gently with the unconscious

-are interested in inner child or parts-based healing

-value both science and spiritual meaning

-feel called to reconnect with their inner wisdom

You do not need to believe anything specific for this work to be meaningful. Curiosity and openness are enough.

Who hypnotherapy may not be right for

Hypnotherapy is a supportive and effective approach for many people, but it is not the right fit for everyone or for every moment in a person’s healing journey.

Hypnotherapy may not be appropriate at this time if you:

-are experiencing acute psychiatric distress, including active psychosis or severe dissociation

-feel unsafe accessing inner experiences without significant external support

-are seeking hypnotherapy as a quick fix or a way to bypass emotions or responsibility

-feel pressured to change, release, or perform rather than move at your own pace

-are looking for hypnotherapy to replace medical or psychiatric care

This does not mean hypnotherapy will never be an option. Often it simply means that another form of support, or a different pace, may be more appropriate right now.

Readiness matters. Safety matters.
We always move in a way that respects both.

What to expect in a hypnotherapy session

As with all my work, hypnotherapy begins in relationship. We take time to check in, listen to what is present in your body, your emotions, and your inner world, and move from there.

Hypnotherapy sessions are calm, focused, and collaborative. You are not unconscious, out of control, or unaware of what is happening.

We begin with conversation and grounding so you feel oriented and supported. Together, we clarify what feels important to explore and ensure your system feels ready to move inward.

During the hypnotherapy portion of the session, you are guided into a state of focused awareness that often feels calm, attentive, and inwardly present. Many people describe it as similar to deep concentration, guided imagery, or meditation.

You remain aware of where you are and can generally can speak, move, pause, or stop at any time. You are always in choice.

Some sessions feel subtle and reflective.
Others bring emotional clarity, insight, or a sense of softening.
There is no right experience and nothing you are expected to feel.

Time is always given to integrate, ground, and return fully before the session ends.

Safety, consent, and readiness

Your safety and wellbeing are always the priority.

Hypnotherapy is offered within a trauma-aware, integrity-based framework that emphasizes informed consent, nervous system awareness, and pacing.

Before engaging in hypnotherapy, we take time to assess readiness and ensure this approach feels appropriate and supportive for you. Consent is ongoing, not a one-time conversation. You are encouraged to ask questions, name concerns, and communicate what you are noticing in your body at any point.

You remain in control throughout the session. You may pause, shift, or stop at any time.

Hypnotherapy is offered as part of integrative psychotherapy and is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care.

Healing unfolds best when it is chosen, paced, and supported.

A gentle next step

If hypnotherapy feels like something you are curious about, you do not need to decide anything right away.

If you are new to my practice, the first step is to book a psychotherapy intake session. This gives us time to get to know each other, understand what brings you here, and explore what kind of support may be most helpful for you. Hypnotherapy can be discussed and considered as part of that conversation, if and when it feels appropriate.

If you are already a client, hypnotherapy may be gently integrated into our work together within extended or deepened psychotherapy sessions, depending on your readiness and needs.

There is no pressure to move quickly.

We begin where you are and move at a pace your system can support.
